To alleviate the suffering and provide some relief, we have at Al Noor, initiated a project, to help the refugees, the homeless, the elderly, the sick & the disabled on a weekly basis. We launched in November 2020 and provide hot meals to the needy in South London on a weekly basis every Thursday evening. This is done through a combination of setting a Hot Food stall at the entrance of Norbury Park (opposite Norbury Station), delivering food at refugee centres in Croydon, and also delivering meals to the elderly, sick and disabled at their homes.
Al-Noor Institute has been serving the community since 1997 through its small but welcoming site in Norbury, London.
We plan to continue to serve the community by ensuring the Imambargah has a freehold property which the current and future generations can benefit from. This will ensure we continue to develop, empower and enrich the youth of our community aligned to the teaching of Ahlebayt .
The proposed new site helps provide a variety of new and existing facilities to the community, such as;
Imambargah, Registered Food Bank, Private Halls, Shia school/nursery, Sports facilities, Banqueting suite, Meeting and training rooms, Library, Family Room/ Soft play, A separate room for visiting Alim, Catering facility, Parking facility and Disabled access
